Why travel with Inspire Afrika?
As we are a small charity, we do not make any profit or take any wages. As the driving force behind Inspire Afrika we want all money raised to go directly to the school projects to benefit the children and not be swallowed up in administration costs.
As a volunteer, you will see the money being spent and help complete the work in hand.
A typical day in a school project will be as follows:
7.30 am – Breakfast
8.00 am – Leave for the day’s work at the project through the streets of Nakuru, typically a 10-minute journey.
After a short greeting from the children work at the project begins.
Building projects will be specified at the time.
13.00 pm – Lunch supplied at the project.
13.30 pm – Back to work.
16.00 pm – Pick up to go back for a well-earned rest and maybe a few beers in the bar.
The day will be interspersed with time to spend entertaining the children in the classroom and at playtime.
